first date
I had a lovely date today.  Sonia arrived at about 10:00 this morning and we spent all day together until about 8:00.  We hung out and talked some.  We walked for a couple of hours, all across town, from my house to Canyon Road and back.  We had lunch at Cowgirl, which was kind of interesting since I know the owner.  He chatted us up for a while and offered us free food and dessert.  Unfortunately, I'm not eating any carbs this week, so we turned him down.  Plus, he might have continued just talking to us.  He's a chatty one.  He is the father of one of my senior girls.  We also went to a cafe near Canyon Road.  That was fun too.  Later we saw a movie, Valkyrie.  It was interesting.  I'm not entirely sure whether I liked it or not.  I was encouraged to see/hear that there were nazis that opposed the nazis.  I'd never heard that before.  I thought the resistance was outside the government.  I'm fascinated with resistance and nazis in general.  Anyhow.  I had a very nice time.  I can't tell if we were really connecting or not.  I would definitely like to have another date with her.  She is really cute.  And smart.  And interesting.  I can't, at all, tell what she was thinking.  But she did spend a long day with me.  Like good lesbians, we hugged at the end of the date.  I'm being a little shy these days, but it seemed inappropriate to kiss her.  I don't think she would have liked it.

One funny thing.  She had told one of her coworkers about our date, and the woman periodically text messaged her during the day (to make her seem popular or mysterious or something).  They were cute messages.  "Throw your head back and laugh."  And similar ones.  At least she's told someone about our date...

I just checked my cell phone (I didn't take it with me today) and two people were desperately trying to reach me (Joy and one of my students).  Now I feel a little guilty that I wasn't available today.  Ah well.  It happens.  Joy and Max will be home late tomorrow night.  This vacation has gone by just a little too fast.  I'll be glad to be hanging with Max again, but I haven't had much downtime.
